The first step in selecting a Fire Extinguisher is determining which rooms in the place require one. At least one should be kept on each floor of the property. There are four types of fire extinguishers including A, B, C, & D and each kind can extinguish a different sort of fire. Class A extinguishers will extinguish flames in common combustibles like wood and paper. Class B extinguishers are designed for use with flammable liquids such as grease, gasoline, and oil. Class C extinguishers should only be used on electrically charged flames. Extinguishers of Class D are intended for use on flammable metals.
